Trace Latency Tool -
Site Terms of Use
This tool will generate a latency and trace report based on your IP address. Note that this is the IP address that the web server detects your client has. First it pings your IP address with 50 pings or 5 seconds worth of pings, whatever is the most restrictive. If 50 pings don't come back in time, it times out at 5 seconds. After the initial ping, the tool does a trace route up to 20 hops. It then does another ping test on the last hop with a response. The idea here is if your IP address is filtered for ICMP, you can still determine latency information at a router close by. It takes 45 seconds to generate the report. This is to ensure that even if the pings or trace route go slowly, that the report will be finished. Just click below and when the report is done it will pop up automatically. The report is saved with your IP address for the short term at least, so you can reference it later if you wish.
Note that this report will be available at a public HTML page, named with your IP address, so you can refer to it. It only contains a trace to your IP address and latency information, so there isn't much distinguishing data besides your IP address. The reports are not browsable, so the only way to view them would be to enter the IP address specifically. All reports are deleted at midnight each day.
