Transport refers to the movement of data from sources and sinks, via processes where it is transformed, and passed to other processes, storage, or sources and sinks of data. Sources or sinks of data are reffered to as Entities, which might be a human entering invoices into an accounts receivable system, or an electronic sensor. While transport is usually done over a network, this is not required. Transport might be a sneakernet or an expandable paper file shoved acrossed a table.
